Paalam KA ERDY

Noong Agosto 31, 2009, pinapagpahinga na ng Diyos ang pinakamamahal naming Tagapamahalang Pangkalahatan, ang Kapatid na Eraño G. Manalo.  Ang balitang ito ay nakapagdulot ng labis na pagdadalamhati sa mga kapatid sa Iglesia. Marami sa amin ang hindi makapaniwalang iniwan na kami ng aming Ka Erdy na pinangunahan ang Iglesia ng buong puso, buong giting at pagibig sa loob ng 46 na taon.   Ang Iglesia ay  lumaganap sa buong Pilipinas sa pangunguna noon ng Kapatid na Felix Y. Manalo, ang sinasampalatayanan naming sugo ng Diyos sa mga huling araw na ito sa bisa ng mga hula na nakasulat sa Bibliya. Nang siya ay pinagpahinga na ng Diyos noong Abril 12, 1963, ang bigat ng responsibilidad ay naatang sa balikat ng Kapatid na Eraño G. Manalo.  Siya ay opisyal na naitalaga bilang Tagapamahalang Pangkalahatan ng  Iglesia Ni Cristo noong Abril 23, 1963.  Subalit marami ang nanghula na ang mga pagtatagumpay na nagawa ng Kapatid na Felix Y. Manalo ay hindi kayang higitan o tumbasan man lamang ng Kapatid na Eraño G. Manalo.  Marami ang nagsabi na ito na ang simula ng pagbagsak ng Iglesia.  Nagkamali silang lahat ng akala. Sa mga unang buwan ng kanyang panunungkulan, dinalaw niya ang mga kapatid sa iba’t-ibang mga lokal at pinalakas ang loob na noon ay labis na nangungulila sa pagpanaw ng Sugo.  Dahil dito, lalong tumibay ang mga kapatid.  Sa pangunguna ng Kapatid na Eraño G. Manalo, ang Iglesia ay lalong natanyag at nagtagumpay sa iba’t-ibang larangan ng gawain nito lalo na sa gawaing pagpapalaganap. Ito ay naisakatuparan sa pamamagitan ng iba’t-ibang paraan ng pagpapalaganap katulad ng mga pamamahayag, mga programang panradyo at telebisyon, pamamahagi ng mga Pasugo at polyeto at pagpapadala ng mga ministro at manggagawa sa iba’t-ibang panig ng daigdig..  Nang maglaon ay naitatag ang DZEM Radio at Net25 Television, mga istasyong ang pangunahing layunin ay ang palaganapin ang mga dalisay na aral Diyos.   Dahil dito, ang Iglesia ay lalong lumaganap sa buong Pilipinas na ngayon ay bumibilang na sa mahigit limanlibong lokal ang nakatalatag sa buong kapuluan.  Ito ay lumaganap din sa iba’t-ibang panig ng daigdig.  Sa kasalukuyan ay may mga nakatatag ng mga Lokal sa 90 mga bansa at teritoryo sa buong mundo ang Iglesia Ni Cristo na kinabibilangan ng 102 lahi at nasyonalidad. Sila ay masinop na pinangangasiwaan ng Pamamahala katulong ang mga Ministro, Manggagawa at mga Maytungkulin upang madalang sakdal ang mga kapatid tungo sa nalalapit na kaligtasan. Napakarami pang mga bagay ang naisakatuparan ng Ka Erdy sa panahon ng kanyang pangunguna sa Iglesia.  Ang Iglesia ay nakapagpatayo ng mga naggagandahan at naglalakihang mga kapilya na sinasampalatayanan naming nakapagbibigay ng kaluwalhatian sa Pangalan ng Panginoong Diyos, ang Amang nasa langit.  Ang pinakamalaki at pinakamaganda dito ay ang Templo Sentral na matatagpuan sa Diliman, Quezon City na naihandog sa Diyos noong taong 1984.  Dito din matatagpuan ang Tanggapang  Sentral ng Iglesia Ni Cristo.  Nasa kalapit nito ang New Era University, New Era Hospital, Pavilion at Tabenakulo na naitatag din sa panahon ng Ka Eraño.  Nariyan rin ang mga proyektong pambahay para sa mga kapatid, Lingap sa Mamamayan katulad ng medical and dental missions na ang nakikinabang ay hindi lamang ang mga kapatid sa Iglesia kundi maging ang mga hindi kaanib nito. Nariyan din ang Iba’t-ibang proyektong panlipunan tulad ng tree planting projects, clean up drives at mga proyektong pangkabuhayan at panghanapbuhay. Ang lahat ng ito’y masinop na naisakatuparan sa pangunguna ng Ka Erdy.  Higit sa lahat, ang pangangailangang espirituwal ng mga kaanib sa Iglesia ang higit na pinagukulan ng Pamamahala ng kanilang buhay at lakas. Hinubog din nila ang mga kapatid na maging mabuting mamamayan ng bansa. Walang sinayang na panahon ang Pamamahala upang ang Iglesia ay maihatid nila sa mataas na uri ng paglilingkod sa Dakilang Lumikha. Sila ay ginamit na bibig ng Diyos upang hatdan kami ng mga payo, saway at mga tagubilin upang manatili kaming karapatdapat na mga lingkod ng Diyos. Dahil sa kanilang mga pagpapagal, ang mga kapatid ay naging matibay sa pagasa at pananampalataya.

Tunay na katangi-tangi ang mga naisagawa ng Kapatid na Eraño G. Manalo sa buong panahon ng Kanyang pangunguna sa Iglesia.  Hindi matatawaran ang kanyang mga nagawa para sa kapakanan ng mga kapatid at maging ng mga hindi kapatid sa Iglesia. Ito ang dahilan kaya ganon na lamang ang kalungkutang nadama ng mga kapatid sa kanyang paglisan.  Hindi katakataka kung bakit hindi mapatid-patid ang pagdating ng mga kapatid upang masilayan man lamang siya at makapagbigay pugay at respeto kahit sa huling sandali.  Kahit ang katumbas nito ay ang mahabang pagpila at pagtitiis dahil sa dami na rin ng mga nais makiramay.  Lalong nadama ng mga kapatid ang labis na pagdadalamhati ng ang Tagapamahalang Pangkalahatan ay inihatid na sa kanyang  pansamantalang libingan.  Hindi mapigilan ng mga kapatid ang pagtulo ng luha na nakipagsabayan sa mga patak ng ulan.  Maging ang mga nanood sa telebisyon sa kani-kanilang tahanan sa buong mundo ay ganon din ang nadama.  Tunay na napalaking alaala ang iniwan ni Ka Erdy sa aming mga puso. Mapalad ang Iglesia Ni Cristo sa pagkakaroon ng Pamamahalang tunay na nagmamalasakit sa kapakanan ng mga kaanib nito. Ito ay nasaksihan namin kina Kapatid na Felix Y. Manalo at Eraño G. Manalo.  Tunay na ginagabayan sila ng ating Panginoong Diyos.  Kitang-kita ito sa mga pagtatagumpay na inani ng Iglesia Ni Cristo.  Ito’y gawa ng Makapangyarihang Kamay ng Diyos. At ito’y magpapatuloy sa Pamamahala ng Kapatid na Eduardo V. Manalo.

Nangangako kami na lahat ng mga pagpapagal ng Kapatid na Eraño G. Manalo ay hindi namin iwawalang kabuluhan.  Mananatili kaming matatag at matibay sa pagasa at pananampalataya hanggang sa huling sandali ng aming mga buhay.  Mananatili kaming IGLESIA NI CRISTO.

Hindi na natin mabilang kung ilang pangyayari ang naganap sa mundong ating ginagalawan.

Humahangos ang bawat balita.  Nagmamadali.  May nakakagalak.  May nakakatakot.  May nakakainis.May Nakakabigla. 

Health, sports, politics, entertainment, at iba pa.  Lahat may kakambal na balita na pumukaw sa ating mga damdamin at kaisipan.

Best Friends

I have a friend.  A best friend.  We’ve been buddies for the past 15 years or so.  His name is Anthony.  Anton for short.  He’s my Co-Sunday School Teacher.  We’re in the same department.  The Children Worship Service Department.  He was the President and I was the Vice President then when we’re still in the same locale.  We led about sixty brethrens officers or so and about 350 children worshippers.  We became officemates for seven long years.  He’s in Technical Department while I’m in Registrar’s Office up to now.  He’s an electronic and computer  technician.  He knows his work well.  He taugh me some basic things and knowledge about computer.  Like how to set-up and assemble PC.  I thank him for that.  I sometimes accompanied him when he had sideline outside.  We usually do it after office hours or during weekends.   He had a motorcycle as our service.  We use it everywhere we go.  We are really buddies.  We have so many things in common.  We’re both born in June.  We are Gemini. We both love sports.  Basketball and boxing in particular.  But he plays well, I play lousy in basketball.  Maybe, we even have same preferences when it comes to women.  There was a time when we both fell in love with the same woman.  She was beautiful.  He courted her first.  And later I courted her when it was my turn, but as a respect, I asked his permission first.  Hahaha.  That girl became closer to me.  Sometimes, we dated in group.  We went out as far as Tagaytay.  Me, Anton and our two women companions.  I prefer not to mention their names.  We were happy together.  Those were the times when the four of us became the very best of friends.  But as the saying goes, people come and people go.  They were not meant for us.  But still, I miss those times.  There was a time also when Anton asked me to accompany him to a girl’s house he was courting somewhere in Pacita, San Pedro.  She was a chinita beauty.  It was the first time we were going to visit her at home.  Anton did not inform her that we will be coming because he wanted to surprise her.  He even borrowed some money from me because he got an idea to buy a gallon of ice cream as gift.  Unluckily, as in we’re the unluckiest people on earth, the girl was not around when we arrived.  We were the ones caught by surprised.  My best friend was so disappointed.  I ended up carrying the ice cream back home. Hahaha. My family at home wondered why I bought ice cream.  I just told them that I just wanted to treat them since it’s hot.  Hahaha.  We acted as groom’s men for our friends weddings thrice.  Not once.  Not twice.  But thrice.  Hahaha.  One of them was the girl we both courted before.  Hahaha.  That’s how sports we are.  The other one was held in far away Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija. That’s how close our friends to us.  Me and Anton are real buddies.  Anton is now married for five years.  Not to one of those women I mentioned.  And we’re not together anymore.  At least for the time being.  Because he’s in Dubai now.  He left the country sometime in September 2007 to look for a greener pasture.  His nature of work is still the same.  He is assigned at the Technical Department.  He is receiving a salary almost ten fold of what he’s receiving here.   Sherille, his wife followed him later.  We sometimes communicate through Yahoo Messenger (chat) and Email.  He told me that he is coming home this December.  And we will be together again for sometimes.   But our being BEST FRIENDS will last a lifetime.

The DOREMI of Life

That’s Love

I remember the days when I used to be an avid listener of DZMB 90.7 Love Radio and WLL 94.7 The Mellow Touch. They used to insert a narration about love when playing love song sometimes.  The narration being spoken by a male with a very cool voice goes this way…

What is love?

Is there really such a thing?

Is love selfish? just a need to fulfill.

Someone to fulfill your need.

I think I know  what  love is.

I can see all eyes  waiting  for the answer.

Love is when, well, if you really don’t care about yourself,

As much as you do to other person.

In other words, it’s not because of the pleasure she gives to you,

But because, you have someone to give pleasure to.

Someone that needs you.

Maybe that’s love, unselfish love.

It’s like, when you’re weary and feeling small.  Right?

When tears are in her eyes,

And you will dry them all.

That’s love…

I felt falling in love everytime I hear these lines accompanied by a beautiful love song.  I wonder if this stuff is still being played nowadays.  I miss it. ♥

Live And Let Die

Don’t be deceived by the title.  It is not about the song popularized by the Beatles.  It’s about life (live) and death (die) that I want to give emphasis here.  To begin with,  there are so many songs, poems and books written about life.  It is one of the most popular topics people want to talk about.  Everyone has his or her own way of addressing questions about the meaning of life, and of course, the many aspects and parts of life as well.  Well, life is the physical, and mental existence of one being.  It is the reason why we exist in this world.  And the world continues to go on because of life.  In other words, without life, we are nothing.  So life is essential for man’s existence…

But everything has its own opposite.  Something different from its direction.  So is life.  As we all know, death is the opposite of life.  If there is life, there is death.  Life is the beginning and death is the end.  Meaning, life coexist with death. They complement each other.  Just like night and day.  Land and sea…

Talking about death, why we people are very discreet when talking about death?  Although sometimes, we make fun of it, but most of the time, we consider it a serious and sensitive subject to tackle about..  Maybe because one good example is, it is not only a scary topic to talk about but so sensitive enough to make it a laughing matter because it involves people closest to our heart.  It involves attachment.  Feelings…

When someone died,  somebody might  say,  “Ganyan talaga ang buhay.  Lahat  dyan patungo.  Una-una lang.”  But if you ask him if he wants to go first,  he will answer, “Mauna ka na.“  People always say when someone died, “Buti nga siya nasa langit na.”  Kasi nga naman sa langit ang sarap ng buhay.  A man on his right mind won’t say NO if asked if he wants to go to heaven.  Lahat gusto mapunta sa langit, pero ang problema, walang gustong mauna.  Amusing.  Isn’t it?  But that’s a fact…

It’s ironic that sometimes, the one with a lot of dreams and achievements, young, energetic and precious his life so much is the one who dies first. The one who wants to live long lives short.  The one who wants to live more lives less. The one who precious life so much meets the death early.  The one who refuses to die dies.  Mabibigla na lang tayo sa mga pangyayari.  Iiyak na lang tayo. Iiling na lang tayo at manghihinayang.  Ganyan ang buhay…

In contrast, sometimes, the one who wants to die for some reasons, sickness, poverty, failure, heartbreak stays long in this world. Even if he refuses to live.  As if he’s the luckiest person on earth.  Because the most precious thing in this world and that is LIFE refuses to leave him.  As the saying goes, “Pag di ukol, di bubukol.”  Kahit habulin mo pa si kamatayan kung di mo pa panahon mananatili ka sa mundong ito.  So, you better change your point of view about life.  Love life and move on!  As simple as that…

Menace of society they say are hard to die. As one popular quote says, Ang masamang damo matagal mamatay.  But if a good one dies, people might say, “Mabait kasi siya kaya kinuha na siya ni Lord.” Somebody might blurt, “Life is unfair!” Is it because the bad stay long, while the good die early?  In some ways, yes.  But remember that everything in this world has beginning and end.  We are just waiting for our turn.  These bad will go someday and may even die in a very painful ways as payment for what they have done…

Indeed, “life and death” is a complicated, sensitive and emotional subject to deal with.

To begin with…

To begin with…well, how would I start my first post in my blog?  What kind of topic do I need to write?  About life? Love? Politics? Religion? Environment? Society?  To admit it, I don’t know.  I have no idea what am I supposed to write about.  All I know is, I opened my blog a while ago.  I started to think whether to write or not.  To begin or not.  Until I found myself starting to press the keyboard.  Now here I am starting writing my first blog topic.  Well, everybody is a writer.  Literally or symbolically.  We are a writer in our own right.  We are the one that write our destiny…so we are the writer of our life, of our destiny.  Whatever fate or destiny we will have in the future depends on how we carried our life.  If we succeed, no one can be congratulated but us.  If we fail, no one can be blamed but ourselves.  We are the architect of our life.  We are the one that mold our future.  If we think negative, we may fail miserably.  If we think positive, success may follow.  We have only two things to choose from, be pessimistic or be optimistic.  Then, everything will follow.  But everything depends on what we choose.  

Somebody might ask me why did I choose to begin this way and how come I ended up with this kind of topic?  Maybe some sort of weird topic to others.  My answer is, it’s because it’s the one my mind wanted it to be.  My fingers just followed.  If you think it’s weird, well, I don’t care.  As far as I’m concerned, at least I was able to post my first topic in my own blog.  Any topic can work. Everything under the sun.  Coz, I am AS FREE AS BIRD. As long as I don’t hurt anybody’s feeling.  My life as a writer just begun.
